The setting was the atmospheric Ahma Event Space in Parkdale, an intimate venue with layers of warmth.

Together with the incredible family, we brought in bold, personal touches: dark purple and burnt orange slim pillar candles flickering in hurricane glass holders, divine Ontario florals by the artists at Hunt & Gather, and a memory-sharing service that included a soloist, keyboardist, and a livestream for loved ones joining from afar. We also recorded the service for good measure.

After the service, we transformed the room into a reception full of connection and conversation. A custom menu by Simpl Things featured stracciatella tortellini, vegetarian dumplings, mushroom crostinis, their premium charcuterie board, and more. And yes, a whole lot of good wine was enjoyed.

I loved creating the memory table and setting up the vignette over the mantle: a breathtaking floral piece paired with original paintings by the woman we were celebrating. Her favourite sunset photograph from home was framed and fit perfectly between the wall sconces. It was artful, moving, and completely her.

Arranging and coordinating all of these details can feel daunting to a family at first, and I am sincerely honoured when families choose to work with me to help lighten that load.
